Iran actively assists the development of the garment industry

Iranian Ministry of Industry, Mining, Textiles and Garment Industry Mr. Mehdi Eslampanah pointed out that in the past six years, Iran’s ready-to-wear garments had an export value of 800 million U.S. dollars; currently, garments are worth 133 million U.S. dollars each year and weigh 9,600 metric tons.

Mr. Eslampanah stated that Iran currently has 1,860 garment factories with total assets of US$180 million. The garment industry has become the top investment priority, mainly due to low pollution and high entrepreneurial spirit.

In order to reduce the imports of poor-quality garments, Iran has set the tariff on garments at US$25 per kilogram, resulting in a reduction in the number of garment imports from 6,200 metric tons in 2005 to 2 years ago (referring to Iran’s year, beginning on March 21, 2010). 400 metric tons.

Mr. Eslampanah also pointed out that the Iranian government has been very active in assisting the development of the garment industry, such as the reduction of import tariffs on raw materials, the provision of **, the subsidies for upstream oil industry, and the design style of garments.
